One of the toughest challenges in screenwriting is persuading anybody to read your script. Considering how tough it is to persuade relatives and friends to read a script, it's amazing that beginning writers actually expect agents and producers to jump at the opportunity to read their first drafts.

I've been writing for several years and have completed sixteen full-length feature film screenplays. I also wrote and produced six half-hour comedies which were presented on local cable television channels. I've been active in several screenwriting groups, including Scriptwriters Network, Writers Block, American Zoetrope and HeliumExchange.com and organized a group to undertake field trips o L.A. County Coroner, the old Santa Monica Police department and later their new facilities. We also hosted private dinners with a private investigator, an FBI special agent and a former L.A. County Assistant District Attorney.

Recently I've begun working with Michael Hague (www.ScreenplayMastery.com) and am trying to master Dramatica Pro (http://www.dramatica.com/). Although it's still early, I've found Michael very helpful and Dramatica is fascinating, once you get over the initial hurdle of ploughing through a 425 page instruction manual. Dramatica brings a logical, geometric precision to screenwriting, that has been lacking in my early efforts.

The opening scenes to my more recent screenwriting efforts are online and listed in the blue box at the right. If you wish to share any comments or criticisms, or want to find out how the stories end, please contact me.

Short Comedies

My Back Yard
Three Hollywood wannabes room at a beach home owned by two eccentric retired performers. When Minnie leaves for a weekend, Randall allows a sleazy director to shoot an erotic video on the property. Of course, Minnie can’t get more than two blocks away before she has to turn back for one reason or another, and woe betide all if she should discover the scantily clad girls running through her home.

Condoms and Commitments
A farce about safe sex and contemporary relationships.

Blind Justice
Lexus "Legs" Justice, Private Eye has a simple philosophy: Everybody is guilty of something. Crime doesn't pay, but neither do most of your clients. And a dog ain't just man's best friend. Her constant companion Elvis looks like the King, dresses and even sings like the King. But he believes he's really Lexus's Seeing Eye dog. Honey and Bunny think solving mysteries is way cool. Together they tackle the really tough cases.
